Is it time to plan a date night, and you want to try something different? I've got just the thing for you. The McMurry University Theatre Department will present their 'McMurry Homecoming' Musical, 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' October 18-20 and 25-27 at the Amy Graves Ryan Little Theatre. This sci-fi thriller promises to be entertaining, as it is a show that features Top 40 hits from the 1960s and a script based on the 1956 science fiction movie “Forbidden Planet” and Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.”

The McMurry Marching Band is having a big 'fundraiser garage sale' this Saturday, October 6th. The event will benefit the McMurry Band and the new band service organization, Kappa Kappa Psi. Keith Lloyd the assistant Director of Bands says "we're clearing out closets, storage buildings and other rooms of all the old band things we no longer need". Not only 'band' related items will be for sale.

Abilene Church Has Live Music Fundraiser for New Playground This Saturday

The Wylie Christian Church is a church that I've often referred to, as the little church on the hill. So when I was asked by Jon and Don a couple of church elders, to help get the word out, I jumped at the chance. Wylie Christian Church is in dire need of a "real playground" for the children, so the church is hosting a party of with lots of live bands this Saturday, September 29th from 2 - 6 p.m. on the churches parking lot at 6250 Buffalo Gap road.
