Brave Cat Saves Baby From Python

Not long ago, Tess Guthrie’s cat was hissing so loud that the sound woke her from her slumber. And when the 22-year old Australian mom did open her eyes she saw a six foot python had wrapped itself around the arm of her six-month-old daughter, who was sleeping right next to her.
“I thought I was having a nightmare,” Guthrie explained. “It was only because the cat was hissing that I woke up and saw the snake with its body wrapped around my daughter Zara’s arm.”
Completely terrified, Guthrie’s “adrenaline kicked in” and she was able to pry the serpent off of the baby. To make matters even more scarier, the python had bit Zara’s arm multiple times.
Luckily they were just flesh wounds, and Zara was treated and released from the hospital with a clean bill of health. As for the python, Tex Tillis, who runs Tex’s Snake Removals, defended the reptiles intentions.
The snake [had] not in any way, shape or form intended to eat the baby,” Tillis said. “It was trying to have a group hug.”
Night visits from overly-friendly pythons. Welcome to Australia.
