Carrie Underwood’s Take on NHL Fights? ‘I’m Good With It’
Carrie Underwood talked about her support of the Nashville Predators and husband Mike Fisher during the first intermission of Monday night’s Game 4 in Nashville. She admitted she doesn’t mind the fighting.
In factm it kind of seemed like she may enjoy it. “I’m good with it,” Underwood said during the NBC interview. “I feel like Mike can handle himself.”
While country music stars have come out en mass in support of the Predators, Underwood is among their most loyal fans. Fisher is the team’s captain, and the singer has been seen at every game nervously cheering the team on. Monday was Fisher’s 37th birthday, but that was a mere footnote to the day’s more important event.
“I didn’t get him anything, I’m terrible,” Underwood said when pressed on the gift. “I will though.” In truth it sounds like they’d decided to hold off celebrating until after the Stanley Cup Finals. She’s hoping to be able to celebrate with the Stanley Cup.

The “Smoke Break” singer has some time off currently, and she’s been filling it by supporting Fisher and just generally showering him with love. Before Saturday’s game she took to Instagram to share how proud she was. On Monday she did recognize her husband’s birthday, saying Fisher is the “only Fish in the C” for her, also on Instagram.
Underwood started what has become a new tradition for the Nashville Predators when she sang the National Anthem prior to Game 3 of the first round of the playoffs. Since then country stars have performed the National Anthem before every home game, with Dierks Bentley doing the honors on Monday night.
