Carrie Underwood is no stranger to awards, and BMI added another accolade to her trophy case with the BMI Board of Directors Award on Tuesday night (April 25).

The award was given to the singer at the 69th annual BMI/NAB Dinner at the Wynn Encore venue in Las Vegas, recognizing her accomplishments as a songwriter, as well as her numerous radio hits and impact on the broadcasting industry. She also received nods for her latest No. 1 hits, "Heartbeat," "Little Toy Guns" and "Smoke Break," which earned the singer three more BMI songwriting awards that she can add to her existing collection of 14.

“Not every superstar is a songwriter, but Carrie is. She has earned the respect of her colleagues, not only for her singing, but also for her brilliant songwriting and storytelling, and that is an accomplishment that cannot be overstated," BMI President and CEO Mike O'Neill says.

The country superstar was also given nine BMI "Million-Air" certificates at the ceremony, signifying songs that have had one million or more plays on the radio. Combined, "Heartbeat," "Little Toy Guns" and "Smoke Break" have three million radio spins.

"I am beyond blessed to get to do what I do, and am grateful that I am surrounded by such incredible people," Underwood says. "I love the people that I get to work with — it’s a joy, a pleasure, and a privilege. Thank you so much BMI for everything that you have done for me and my music."
