In 2018, Carly Pearce spent Thanksgiving in New York City, where she performed her new single, "Closer to You," during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Even though it was a working holiday, Pearce was joined by her boyfriend, fellow country star Michael Ray, for the festivities; in fact, Pearce says, the couple decided to spend both Thanksgiving and Christmas together this holiday season.

"We figured it out!" Pearce explains with a laugh. "I'll be going to Florida for Christmas."

The country couple first took their relationship public earlier in 2018, after finding romance "one random night" at Nashville honky-tonk the Nashville Palace. Ever since, Ray and Pearce have delighted fans with swoon-worthy social media posts, adorable onstage duets and even the possibility of a full-fledged collaboration on Pearce's upcoming sophomore album in 2019.

At this point, the two artists have cemented their position as one of country music's favorite couples, but going home to meet the family is still a big, exciting step. However, Pearce says that although her parents will miss her on Christmas, they couldn't be happier about the person she'll be sharing the holiday with this year.

"Oh, they're so happy. They love Michael," she adds. "They might love Michael more than me!"

After spending a little down time in Florida for Christmas, Pearce has plans to hit the road for the The Way Back Tour in 2019, alongside Russell Dickerson. "We've known each other for so long. We've had the same trajectory, as far as having some ups and downs and finally having hits," she explains of her tourmate. "About eight years ago, we said that if we ever do this, we're gonna team up and tour together, so we're doing it."
