USA Renews ‘Burn Notice’ For Season 7, Is It the Last?

Burn Notice Season 7
USA

It’s official!  ‘Burn Notice‘ fans needn’t worry, as while a seventh season of the long-running USA series had never truly been in doubt, the cable network has officially inked a deal for an additional 13 episodes of the Jeffrey Donovan spy series.  Although, with a reduced order and certain comments from the cast, could we be seeing the final run of Michael, Fiona and Sam Axe?  Could season 7 of’ Burn Noitice’ prove to be its last?

Mixed, but mostly good news for ‘Burn Notice’ fans today, as Deadline is reporting that USA has officially ordered a seventh season of the long-running action spy drama.  While this week will see the beginning of the final episodes of season 6, the series will return in 2013 for a thirteen-episode season.

A lower order than the recent 18-episode seasons, the seventh year will bring the show’s episode total to 100, and mark the third USA series to do so.  With syndication rights available, and following recent cast comments suggesting as such, it’s likely that USA intends a seventh season of ‘Burn Notice’ to be its last.

‘Burn Notice’ is like a fine wine that gets better with age,” said USA Network Co-Presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel. “Delivering high-octane action, gripping drama and nearly 7 million viewers for the mid-season finale, this veteran series is a proven staple of our portfolio.”

Elsewhere, the network has given renewals to ‘Suits,’ ‘White Collar‘ and even ‘Necessary Roughness,’ while cancelling ‘Common Law‘ and sophomore courtroom drama ‘Fairly Legal.’ USA also opted not to renew ‘Political Animals‘ based on low ratings, though the series had initially been designed as a mini-series event to begin with.

What say you?  Are you happy to have a seventh season of ‘Burn Notice,’ even if it ends up being the last?
