The Buffalo Gap Historic Village is hosting 'SurvivalFest' on December 1st. The event is intended to help with education on the importance of preparing for emergency situations. SurvivalFest will feature live music, food, and several groups will be on hand to provide education and information about staying safe in the event of a major emergency.

To add some fun to the mix, the event will include a 'Zombie 5K'. This is not your ordinary 5k run. Participants register to run the 5k (3.1 mile) race with the mission to return to the safety of the Village without being caught by 'zombies' along the race route. These zombies are actually volunteers from Abilene hospitals, the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, and Dyess Air Force Base. No need to worry.
