There are hair-raising schemes and then there are hair-erasing schemes.

A razor company called 800Razors.com has offered pitcher Brian Wilson $1 million to shave off his trademark beard.

Wilson, who has battled a series of injuries in recent years, rocketed to stardom as closer of the San Francisco Giants. He played in his first game since April 2012 on Thursday with the archrival Los Angeles Dodgers, who recently signed him.

800Razors.com says Wilson’s “management feels we need to match his present salary of $1 million at a minimum.”

Wilson is a three-time all-star who’s known almost as much for his bushy beard as he is for saving games. His beard even has its own Twitter account.
