New York City-based singer-songwriter Brian Dunne has a new music video to share exclusively with The Boot's readers. Press play above to watch the clip for his song "We Don't Talk About It."

A cut from Dunne's newest album, Bug Fixes & Performance Issues, released in May, "We Don't Talk About It" found Dunne looking to create a character and tell a story. Although the artist tells The Boot that he appreciates when songwriters look inward for inspiration, he "love[s] when [they] get back to the core of what they do and tell you a story."

"I wanted to develop these characters so that you get to know them," Dunne adds. "I intended it to be from the woman's point of view, though a number of people told me they don't really hear it that way. I kind of like that ambiguity. So without revealing too much about the origins of this particular tale, I'd say that it was definitely one of my prouder pieces of work."

Dunn filmed his "We Don't Talk About It" video in his Brooklyn apartment, "about three feet away from where I wrote [the song]." Doing so allowed him to "capture it in its original environment, so to speak."

A native of upstate New York, Dunne graduated from Boston's Berklee College of Music and moved to New York City. He released his first EP, The Brooklyn Bridge EP, in 2012, and followed that project with Songs From the Hive in 2015. Following an extensive tour in support of Songs From the Hive, Dunne found the inspiration for the title of Bug Fixes & Performance Issues while joking around with a friend after a few (okay, quite a few) drinks at a Brooklyn bar.

"Three-hundred songs, two years and one near nervous breakdown later," he adds, "here it lies."
