Bret Michaels recruited some big names –ranging from country legend Loretta Lynn to Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd to Rascal Flatts‘ Jay DeMarcus, among others- to appear on his new album, ‘Bret Michaels and Friends: Get You Rock On.’ The album drops in September, but to hear Michaels speak about it, he’d like to have it be an ongoing thing, since he has so many friends in high places. He even revealed that he’d like Toby Keith to be part of a future installment of this series, provided there is one.

“This could be the never-ending record,” the singer/guitarist told Rolling Stone. “If I was to do another one of these records, it’s overwhelming the amount of possibilities. I’ve been onstage with Jimmy Page, he’s come and played with Poison in Reno, Nevada, and it was an amazing night. And last year, I played with Toby Keith and partied with him. The list is endless.”

Michaels and Keith? It’s not as strange as it sounds, especially since he just teamed up with Loretta Lynn!

“Every song on it is a collaboration with other musicians,” Michaels explained about the platter. “And it’s such a diverse range of people, from Loretta Lynn and Joe Perry.” Lynn and Perry appear on a reworked version of Poison’s smash ballad ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn.’

It’s got us wondering what song Michaels and Keith could tackle.
