Just because he cut her from his team doesn’t mean Blake Shelton is finished helping country singer Gwen Sebastian. ‘The Voice’ contestant announced on her website that she’ll be playing seven shows with the ‘Drink on It’ singer, including the 2012 ACM Awards in Las Vegas on April 1.

On Monday night, Shelton chose vocal powerhouse Erin Willett over the quirky North Dakotan during the show’s Battle Rounds. The two singers performed Pat Benatar’s ‘We Belong.’ “I think Blake was right when he said that each of us is so different,” Sebastian said. “I wanted to stay true to my country roots and add that flavor. I thought we each gave our all.”

Shelton seemed sincere when discussing how difficult the choice was for him. “Although our journey together has ended on ‘The Voice,’ it’s just beginning in real life,” he said. “I’m so proud every night to share the stage with her out here on the Well Lit & Amplified Tour! She is a star! We love our Gwen.”

Sebastian’s dates on the tour are mostly built around her home state, with another in Arizona and one more in California in late April. It’s not clear which song Sebastian will sing during the ACM Award show performance. Shelton is also hosting the show along with Reba McEnitre.
