We'd like to say that Blake Shelton brought a healthy dose of country to the stage during the Memorial Day (May 27) episode of 'The Voice' but that wouldn't be entirely accurate, since the remainder of his Season 4 team is comprised entirely of country acts! But Shelton did show 'em all how it's done, opening the show with his latest hit 'Boys 'Round Here.'

With his denim jacket, jeans and guitar strapped to his chest, Shelton looked the part of one of the boys he sings about in the song. It was a fun, lighthearted way to open to live performance episode, where the Top 8 performed for America's votes and tensions were -- needles to say -- high. Shelton himself performed the song with a smile on his face the entire time, so it was clear he enjoyed delivering the song in the live realm and in front of his peers and his team.

'Boys 'Round Here' got a passionate reaction from the crowd, as shots of the audience demonstrated ladies grooving and clapping. Hopefully the remaining members of Team Blake -- Holly Tucker, Danielle Bradberry and the Swon Brothers -- were paying close attention to their coach.

Host Carson Daly was all about the song, mentioning how much he dug it several times after Shelton's performance. Perhaps Shelton did his part to turn Daly into a country boy who'll chew tobacco and spit?
