Some of country's biggest stories of 2015 were life-changing, while others were career-changing. And then some were seemingly unimportant, but they went viral anyway! Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood make up part of this list, but neither of these superstars is responsible for the biggest story of 2015.

Underwood and Aldean both marked major personal milestones in 2015. Faith Hill got a haircut — trust us, that was huge news — and Randy Travis made his first official public appearance since his stroke. Country music lost one of its most beloved figures with the death of Little Jimmy Dickens; the icon and Grand Ole Opry mainstay's life was celebrated by millions of fans, and anyone within the industry who got to know him — which seemed to include pretty much everybody.

Joey + Rory have captured the attention — and the hearts — of country music fans everywhere with their faith and determination in the face of a terrible situation, while Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert also got more than their fair share of the spotlight this year — but not for the reason they (or their fans) might have hoped. Chris Stapleton stepped out of the shadows and into the spotlight in a way that surprised everyone.
