Abilene got it's first automatic car-wash system in the mid 1950's, it was the 'Westwood Robo-Wash' that was located at 3889 N. 1st Street. Today there are a dozen automatic car-washes, below are my top 5 from Abilene.

  • Four Seasons Car-wash

    In business since 1988, Four Seasons Car-wash offers everything from a simple $5 drive-through wash to three different detail wash and hand wax packages. Four Seasons is open 6 days a week closed on Sundays. Owner David Johnson said "the reason Four Seasons Car wash is so popular is because you can kill 2 birds with one stone, get a wash and then get your oil changed". Four Seasons also offers a military discount and a half-price wash after 8 washes.

  • Snappy Car-Wash and Detail

    This car wash opened in 1987 at 4824 South 14th as Auto-Brite Car Wash, the name was changed to Snappy Car-Wash several years ago. Owner Reggie Pimento said, "Snappy's popularity is because we offer a wide variety of discounts like seniors day, ladies day, veterans day, college students day and a loyalty reward for every 10th wash the 11th is free". Pimento says they have the best auto-detail services, from a basic to an extensive detail hand-wax job and if you buy an oil and lube change the car wash is free.

  • 50's Classic Car-wash

    As classic as a '57 Chevy, 50's Classic Car Wash stands out from the rest. This is the only full service car wash that is open 7 days a week. 50's has a rewards 'punch-out' card and specialty days like military Tuesdays, ladies Wednesdays, students Fridays and seniors everyday. 50's Manager Carolyn Lanker said "we are the friendliest car-wash in West Texas and that is why we have the most loyal clientele, besides we remember our customers birthdays". Open Monday through Saturday 8:30am till 6pm and Sundays 9am till 4pm.

  • XStream Auto Clean

    While XStream Auto Clean is not a full service car-wash, it is Abilene's fastest and most convenient car-wash, you're in and out in less than 7 minutes from the time you pay to the time you're driving away. As for the interior of your vehicle they have 'self-serve' vacuums and fragrances. Operator Tom Brown admits to being the "fastest and cleanest car wash in the West Texas", not to mention the fact that they are always open until 9pm, 7 days a week. Plus their 72 hour rain guarantee means, they'll be happy to re-wash your car for free, on the first full day of nice weather. XStream Auto Clean has a VIP membership available through their website.

  • Rainbow Car-wash

    Rainbow Car Wash at Barrow and South 27th was originally Four Seasons car wash before Four Seasons moved to their current location. The location at Barrow and South 27th remained closed for a while and years later re-opened as Rainbow Car Wash. Rainbow is the smallest automatic car wash but offers the biggest selection of wash options starting with an exterior wash for only $9 all the way up to the 'Gold Wash' for only $25.95. Open Monday through Saturday only till 6pm.
