The Allstate insurance company's Super Bowl offering for 2013 is yet another example of their philosophy of terrifying customers into buying insurance. Dean Winters returns as the embodiment of "Mayhem," which, we are told, is everywhere.
Taco Bell was forced to retract its anti-vegetable commercial for promoting its 12-pack of tacos. The ad opens with the narrator deriding vegetables, saying "Veggies on game day is like punting on fourth and one — it's a cop out."
The cubicle is an icon of the soul-crushing homogenization that is associated with the corporate world—rows and rows of standardized boxes, confining wraiths that suffer and toil in thankless anonymity. But all is not lost! The following are some of the forms the cubicle has taken in the hands of people who choose to think of it with a spirit of individuality, creative expression and comfort.
Mercedes Benz has graced us with not one, but four teasers for their Super Bowl production. All we know is to expect something sinister, mysterious and hot enough to break dishes and ruin a little girl's ice cream, all set to the Rolling Stones' 'Sympathy For the Devil.' Oh, and a teaser featuring Kate Upton lets us know she'll be washing a car in slow motion. No explanation needed there, really.
This is a fairly self-explanatory activity -- photos of pretty young women are juxtaposed with photos of them looking pretty awful. Interestingly, many of these Reddit submissions come from the young ladies themselves. Why they do this isn't obvious. Perhaps it's that timing is everything? To show that they're pretty and, well, some version of funny? Whatever their motivation, there's no denying that these transformations are certainly spectacular, if nothing else.
Even though this dangerously slippery patch of pavement is helpfully marked with impossible-to-miss pylons, very few choose to go around it. This is great news for us, because it means we've got an eight-minute-long video of people slipping and falling on ice.
