While we all speculate on whether 'Doctor Strange' or 'Black Panther' will be a part of Marvel's Phase 3, today comes some actual new on what one of those Phase 3 movies may be. Unfortunately, there's no major announcement on either of those two new films, but instead it looks like one of the Phase 3 movies will be another sequel, alongside 'Thor 3' and 'Captain America 3' - 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2'.
In addition to an Oscar-nominated career, Gary Oldman has also had an impressive run in movie franchises of late. From 'Harry Potter' to 'The Dark Knight' to 'Planet of the Apes,' Oldman is turning into the new Samuel L. Jackson. The only thing he's missing is a role in the biggest franchise in the world: 'Star Wars'. But, it turns out he might not be missing that for very long.
Just a few months ago, Tom Hanks wondered aloud why he was never cast in a superhero movie. "They don’t ask me and I keep trying … Come on, I can do it. Let me play a bad guy, let me play the bad guy against Batman. I’ll do anything, call me!" he said. And, guess what? They almost did. It turns out Hanks was on a very shortlist of contenders to play Lex Luthor in 'Batman vs. Superman.'
When the script for his upcoming project, 'The Hateful Eight,' leaked, an angry and defiant Quentin Tarantino said he was completely dropping the project. "I have no desire to make it. I’m done. I’ll move on to the next thing," he said. Well, time may truly heal all wounds as just a few weeks later comes word that Tarantino may be rethinking that plan and has already reached out to one of his most frequent collaborators about starring in the film.
The 'Captain America 2' Super Bowl trailer debuted during the big game and gave us our first full look at the new footage (after star Chris Evans premiered a little glimpse on 'Good Morning America' the other day). And, after watching this new Super Bowl trailer, we're more excited than ever!
The 'Transformers 4' Super Bowl trailer is here and finally gives us our first look at the rebooted (but not rebooted?) movie. Now, with our first official look at the upcoming Michael Bay movie we finally get to see the Dinobots!
The 'Need For Speed' Super Bowl trailer has arrived and it featured a lot of what makes this movie popular: lots of cars, cars drifting, cars racing, cars crashing and lots more cars. We've got the extended version of the 'Need For Speed' trailer above so you can check out anything you might have missed (more cars).
Marvel has been hesitant to sign directors who aren't named Joss Whedon to long-term deals, mostly because they like to keep their sequels fluid and evolving. But, they must see something special in 'Captain America 2' directors Joe and Anthony Russo because the comic company has hired the brothers to write and direct 'Captain America 3' before Part 2 has even hit theaters.
Before he was cast as Loki, everyone's favorite Marvel supervillain, Tom Hiddleston actually auditioned for the role of Thor. That part obviously went to Chris Hemsworth, but Marvel liked Hiddleston enough to keep him around (and wisely so). Today, we get our first look at what Hiddleston would've looked like as Thor, and, you know what? It's not bad!
To date, Stan Lee has made a cameo appearance in every single one of the Marvel Studios films (the Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America and Avengers movies). But, that streak is about to end as Lee confirms that he won't be making an appearance in this summer's 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.
Fans of Quentin Tarantino were dealt a tough blow yesterday, as the director announced he was canceling his upcoming film, 'The Hateful Eight,' after the script leaked. We can't say we can make up for a lost Tarantino project, but we do have something that Tarantino fans will enjoy. A rare 8-minute video of Quentin Tarantino and Steve Buscemi in 1991 rehearsing for 'Reservoir Dogs' has popped up online and gives us some insight as to how film history was made.
