Though we're still months away from 'Iron Man 3's release, that doesn't mean we aren't going to get a trickle of steady publicity from now until May 3, 2013. The film has just released four new stills, including our first look at Rebecca Hall.
We're still a little confused about which film 'Texas Chainsaw 3D' is a sequel to. The first film spawned three sequels, with only one helmed by the original's Toby Hooper. Then there was the Michael Bay-produced remake, and it's prequel. But this seems drawn more from the original films than the reboots, even though it's sort of labeled a third film. At the end of the day they're all basically remakes of the first film anyway. Now there's a new trailer and TV spot for the film.
One of 2013's first films, 'Gangster Squad,' has had such a troubled production history that it's become an underdog. Originally scheduled for September of this year, it was bumped to January because of the 'The Dark Knight Rises' shooting, and had to go through re-shoots because it had people being gunned down in a theater. But - even though we're in the heart of Oscar season - the film's release is a little over a month away and now there's a featurette for the film.
Holy Snikt! Bryan Singer's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' is not only offering the new Magneto Michael Fassbender and Professor X James McAvoy along with the original versions played by Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, it looks like Hugh Jackman may be joining the cast for his seventh go-around as Wolverine.
Even with all the word of last minute tweaks, it looks like we're less than a month away from Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained,' and now there's a new trailer that offers a lot of shooting, and a smattering of new footage.
Sketch comedy needs a kick in the rear every couple years, and it's been too long since Dave Chappelle flamed out when fame and fortune made 'The Chappelle Show' his cross to bare. And though 'Key & Peele' isn't to those lofty heights, they might get there, and they might get there next year as the show has been renewed for a third season.
Okay, so we've had Snow White twice ('Mirror Mirror' and 'Snow White and the Huntsman'), and we're going to get 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' and the new take on 'Sleeping Beauty' with 'Maleficent,' so what fairy tales are left to redo as a live action re-imagings? It turns out the next one will likely be 'Cinderella' and it could be pretty great as it's got Mark Romanek attached to direct and is looking to land Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother.
'Safety Not Guaranteed' director Colin Trevorrow was being buzzed about recently as a possible helmer for 'Star Wars Episode 7.' He recently said he was out of the running (and we may know who the director is), but it's not like he isn't moving on to bigger things. He's now attached (with writing partner Derek Connolly) to Disney's 'Flight of the Navigator' remake.
Joe Carnahan, who was trying to direct 'Daredevil' for 20th Century Fox before their rights ran out, has now signed on for another comic book adaption, this time at Warner Brothers. The book is 'Undying Love,' which involves soldiers, vampires, mobsters and the Hong Kong Underground.
Take this for what it's worth: Actor Jason Flemyng, longtime Matthew Vaughn collaborator, may have spilled the beans on who's directing 'Star Wars Episode 7' -- that being Vaughn, obviously. In an interview he seems to take for granted that Vaughn has the job before somewhat backtracking. Are the beans spilled?
'Two and a Half Men' star Angus T. Jones, perhaps realizing that he had burned not only his meal ticket but everyone he is still contractually obligated to work with for the rest of this season, has issued a statement about the video where he called the show filth, a video which exploded across the internet yesterday.
'Justice League' is coming out in 2015, which is already going to be one of the biggest summers for event films (between it, 'The Avengers 2' and 'Star Wars Episode 7'), but other than Henry Cavill rumored to appear as Superman none of the other cast has been fleshed out. The latest hot rumor is that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Batman, the Dark Knight himself.
