Austin Burke, ‘One Summer’ Lyric Video [Exclusive Premiere]

Seashells, sand, sunshine and summer love -- it's all there in Austin Burke's new lyric video for his single "One Summer." Readers can press play above to watch the clip, premiering exclusively on The Boot.

"Everybody has that one summer / That one kiss / That one moment that goes something like this," Burke sings in the chorus of "One Summer," the lyrics of which tell the story of three friends enjoying one last summertime before college: "We knew we had to grow up / Didn't have to grow up yet," goes a line in the first verse, expressing a feeling that's familiar to pretty much everyone out there.

""One Summer" is a song I’ve fought for over the last three years,” Burke says in a press release. “I think everyone has that one summer they will never be able to forget because it was so good. This song was that summer for me."

Burke co-wrote "One Summer" with Sherrie Austin and Brian Maher. It's his first new music since the 2017 release of his self-titled debut EP.

When Burke was growing up in Phoenix, Ariz., he dreaming of being a "singing baseball player;" in fact, that's what he told Rosie O'Donnell when he, as a youngster, covered Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places" on her talk show. Burke loves both music and baseball -- he sang the National Anthem, at the age of three, for the Arizona Diamondbacks and once met Brooks at a San Diego Padres Spring Training game -- and played the sport through college ... but then, the idea of a career in music took over.

Burke moved to Nashville when he was 19 years old; he waited tables and saved up to record his debut single, "Sleepin' Around," released in 2016. In the years since, he's opened shows for artists including Cole Swindell and Vince Gill.
