The latest trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag goes in-depth with the story behind Edward Kenway, and what it means to be a pirate.

Like any great tale of piracy, there's a mysterious treasure to uncover. The trailer also gives us a hint of the political intrigue of the era, where Kenway and crew are fighting off threats at every turn. It'll be interesting to see just how Kenway became an Assassin, as his son Haytham was a Tempar in Assassin's Creed 3.

The world looks sharp and vibrant, and the sheer amount of naval battles has us itching to finally give this sequel a go. After delaying Watch Dogs until 2014, Ubisoft is going to be relying on Assassin's Creed 4 even more this holiday. You can look for Black Flag on the Wii U, PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 on Oct. 29. The next-gen versions will launch with the respective consoles.
