SXSW is just around the corner, set to invade Austin, Texas later this month. As part of the music conference, top artists that get played on Viacom properties like MTV, VH1 and CMT will perform at the 'Live in Austin' event -- among them country's Ashley Monroe.

The Pistol Annies member will be releasing her solo debut 'Like a Rose' on March 5, and this appearance at a major music industry event is the perfect promo opp for her to further spread the word about her solo effort and, of course, what's next for the Annies. The annual music, interactive and film conference is not typically country-heavy, so Monroe's performance should reach new ears.

The  'Live in Austin' event will take place on March 11, and anyone headed to the festivities would be best served by adding this event to their itinerary. Other acts set to perform are female soul pop singer ZZ Ward, indie pop rockers Youngblood Hawke, singer-songwriter and My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James and more, so Monroe is in good company. Additionally, she'll perform an official SXSW set on Friday, March 15.

"Hippie Annie" recently gave fans a copy of 'You Ain't Dolly (And You Ain't Porter)' -- her cheeky song featuring Blake Shelton where the twosome trade lyrical barbs in the vein of classic "he said, she said" duets -- when they preodered her new album.
