Come enjoy family fun at the Abilene Zoo every Thursday night through August! You can come take advantage of the cooler evenings and longer daylight hours with Sunset Safari Nights at the Abilene Zoo. The zoo extends hours until 9pm every Thursday through August, with regular zoo prices applying
Do you like the outdoors, native plants and wildlife? Do you have a passion for habitat restoration and community outreach? Are you interested in citizen science, hiking, or astronomy? Then the Master Naturalist Program is perfect for you. From August 30th to November 15th, the Big Country chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist will be offering training classes.
The 5th Annual Tools for Schools Charlie “Bugs” Farmer Jr. Memorial ride will be on September first! Riders will meet at Fatboys and kickstands up at 3pm. All proceeds will go to Merkel and surrounding schools. For more information contact Virginia “Boogie” Snelson at 325-725-2373
The 37th Annual Rentech Chili Super Bowl is Labor Day weekend at the old settlers campgrounds in scenic Buffalo Gap! This event benefiting the Ben Richey Boys Ranch will be September 1st and 2nd with the promises of food, fun, auctions, raffles and so much more
Want to get down and dirty while also helping a local charity? Then come sign up for the 8th Annual Big Country Mudslinger Fun Run at Seabee Park on September 8th with races starting at 8am.
Put on those dancing shoes and come on down to the Big Country Honky-Tonk Dance and Concert on September 21st! Show off your line-dancing skills and listen to some music by none other than Tracy Byrd and Mark Powell.
Come show off your shooting skills at the 18th annual West Texas Dove Classic to benefit Disability Resources Incorporated! The event will be held at the White Rock Lodge just outside of Abilene September 21st through the 23rd from 8am to 8pm. Not only will there be shooting, there will also be cornhole, flurry, throwing and pitching events!
The 36th Annual Cruise Night is scheduled to roll on Saturday October 20th! This year, Cruise Night will benefit Boys & Girls Club of Abilene. Cruise Night is a night full of good ol’ fashioned cruising, live music, a dance, and AMAZING food. This year we’ll have The Mullet Boyz for live music!
