These are difficult times for our nation. Our citizenry is more divided than ever. The election could plunge our world into chaos. There is only one salve for our collective wounds: Nicolas Cage hunting for Osama Bin Laden.Yes, that is the glory that the Army of One trailer promises. Based on a GQ article, Cage plays a man named Gary Faulkner, who attempted to capture Osama Bin Laden and (apparently?) had a curiously high voice. Per Entertainment Weekly, Faulker was...

...an ex-con, unemployed handyman, and modern-day Don Quixote who receives a vision from God (Russell Brand) telling him to capture Osama bin Laden. Armed with only a single sword purchased from a home shopping network, Faulkner travels to Pakistan to complete his mission.

Russell Brand is God? There’s a twist for you. I always thought he was George Burns. The results, directed by Larry Charles (BoratBruno) speak for themselves. This movie looks remarkable. Amazing. Incredible. Triumphant. For Cage, the last couple years have mostly been spent in direct-to-video purgatory, and while Army of One is going that route tooit looks significantly more interesting than much of what occupies Cage’s time these days. This could be his return to glory! Or it could change nothing and still be amazing. Either way, I cannot wait to watch this. Preferably while riding a donkey.Army of One will be released on digital HD on November 4, and on home video and on demand on November 15. Election Day is November 8. Through Cage, the healing shall begin.
