This Saturday, October 6th at The Home Depot in Abilene the annual 'Children's Safety Event' will be taking place. This event is free and offers a variety of services while educating kids and adults alike. The Abilene Police Department will be on hand to offer advise and educate, while the Taylor County Sheriffs office will be fingerprinting kids free. A fun hands on tool safety building activity is also scheduled. See what all is taking place.

This event is free and open to anyone in the Big Country. I broadcast live from this event last year and I had a blast with the kids. There were about 200-300 children that showed up throughout the event that lasted several hours. Obviously the early bird gets the worm here, so get there early to get awesome selection of project building kits. I got to help several kids build toy fire trucks and a few small bird houses and I showed them the proper way to use ordinary tools.
