American McGee and Spicy Horse Games's Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Kickstarter goal has been achieved, after a very close call during the final hours.

The news of the project's success broke out today in hilarious fashion on the project's page itself. The latest update features a picture of a dog and some text that are supposed to be its thoughts.

"DEAR HUMANS,

THIS IS DOG. GOAL IS CAUGHT. MAN IS HAPPY.

GRRRR, BITE GOAL. CHEW GOAL. SHAKE GOAL VIOLENTLY.

MAN SAYS, 'We did it! Good Lulu. I love you. And I love people too! Thanks, people!'

DOG IS HAPPY.

LOVE,

DOG"

As of this writing, there are still four hours left in the project's life, so backers can still offer up their pledges. McGee and Spicy Horse currently have $202,173, just a bit over their $200,000 goal.

Expect to see the action role-playing game to roll out onto iOS and Android tablets, as well as on Linux, in the near future! The Mac and PC versions of the game are available to play now, so go check it out to get a preview of what's coming to the other platforms.

Let us know what you think of the project and if you'll be grabbing this free-to-play ARPG once it's released on mobile devices and Linux!
