ACU Professor Walks a Marathon for his Relay for Life [VIDEO]
Bo Green, Abilene Christian Universities mathematics professor begun his battle against cancer on the very day he retired from ACU. The day professor Bo started his chemotherapy in Houston, he met 19 year old Samantha also from Abilene. The two became friends and fought their cancer fight together, until Samantha lost her battle in November 2011. Now Professor Bo will walk the Relay for Life in Abilene as a real, 26-mile 385-yard marathon in honor of Samantha.
Last year Bo earned his special, florescent-green t-shirt for raising $1000. This year the professor would like to earn yet another of the highly coveted florescent-green $1000 t-shirts, this one for his wife Becky, whom has been by his side throughout his fight against cancer.
The Relay for Life theme is “Celebrate – Remember – Fight Back”
Bo says, “…those who do not walk with us can Fight Back by donating money while helping us to Remember Samantha and Celebrate that I am still winning against cancer.”
2012 Relay For Life in Abilene will be Friday April 20th - Saturday April 21. Everything gets started at 6:45PM at Elmer Gray Stadium at ACU.
