Typically Safety City is only open to first and third graders that are there for an educational program. However, on Saturday, October 27th from 4 pm  until 7 pm Abilene's Safety City will be hosting it's 'First Annual Safety City Fall Fest.' for trick or treating and other fun stuff. Here's whats going on.

Lt. Joe Tauer head of the APD youth division says "the concession stand will be open and selling a hotdog and a soda for $1 plus, a family of five ca eat for $5 and both the Fire Station and the Police Station will be open for tours. Tauer said "there will be plenty to do for all the children that come to visit during the Safety City Fall Fest." Sgt. Tony Lassetter said "put on your best costume and come out and join us at Safety City for a fun fall festival for all".

All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal adult guardian. the concession stand will be selling hotdogs, sodas, popcorn and glow-stick necklaces while supplies last. Businesses that wish to come participate in the Safety City Fall Fest should call Lt. Tauer or Sgt. Lassetter of the Abilene Police Department at (325)-676-6096.
