The Abilene Zoo will be holding an Earth Day celebration Saturday. In addition to the normal zoo activities(looking at, feeding and petting animals), visitors will be treated to fun and informative activities, aimed at raising awareness of animal conservation efforts. There will also be experts on hand to duscuss wind energy, solar energy, and upcycling(turning used items into crafts).

Admission to the Abilene Zoo is the same as usual, $5.00 adults, $4.00 for seniors 60 years of age and older, $2.50 for kids 3 to 12 years of age and children under 3 get in free. The Earth Day events are at no additional cost. The zoo is located at 2070 Zoo Lane, near ES 11th Street and Loop 322.

The events are geared toward kids and adults alike, and could serve as a great bonding moment for parents and grandparents in a fun but educational setting. The weather will be excellent, so get out and have a good time.
