Abilene is the Official ‘Story Book Capitol of Texas’

During the recent Children's Art and Literacy Festival, State Representative Susan King read a proclamation passed by the House and Senate and signed by the the Governor. The proclamation gives Abilene it's first ever designation as the "Official Story Book Capitol of Texas".

Since the first CALF began in 2012, children's book authors and illustrators have been honored guests in Abilene. Many of the author's creations have left a permanent mark on the landscape of the Key City, in the form of statues in downtown Abilene.
