In the cattle business, things are different from any other time in history. Grass has never been worth more than it is today, and brush and weeds have never been more costly than they are today. For that reason, The Texas AgriLife Extension's Big Country Hal" will host a Range & Brush Field Day May 17th starting at 8:30am. This is an opportunity to hear the latest updates on weed and brush control.

This event is free, but registration is required. Online registration is available, or you can call the Texas AgriLife Extension Office/Taylor County at 325.672.6048 and ask for Tammie or Amy. Registration deadline is May 11th.

As far as the heritage tour, a bus will leave Big Country Hall at 10am for the Antilley Ranch on Hwy 277 in Blackwell. This is an opportunity to get an inside look at how a family ranch that was first established in 1941 has adapted to handle present day challenges.

Lunch will be provided, and registered guests will also receive a free gift courtesy of Dow AgroSciences.
