Abilene law enforcement and the community have always had a good relationship. The officers have trading cards to give to kids, they go to the schools, they have programs to teach bike and car safety and they always go above and beyond to help a great cause. This Thursday, July 26th law enforcement and Texas Roadhouse have teamed up to give you a great dining experience and raise money for the Special Olympics.

Special Olympics are for disabled kids to participate in sporting events against others who have similar challenges. Just like the real Olympics they compete for medals to prove they are the best.

There are a number of sports to compete in; aquatics, basketball, bowling, figure skating, equestrian, soccer, tennis and more.

This Thursday between 5pm and 9 pm our local Texas Roadhouse has opened up their restaurant to some of the athletes who will be competing and paired them with a law enforcement officer. They will then keep your glasses full of tea and make sure your table is well cared for. All you have to do is "tip a cop" and that will be donated to the Abilene Special Olympic organization.

If you can't make the "tip a cop" night please feel free to drop off a donation before or after the event to the Texas Roadhouse and they will see that the Special Olympics receive your donation.

For more information on Special Olympics please see their website.
