ABC to ‘Feel the Force,’ Buys Yet Another Bill Lawrence Comedy

No, we're not seeing the first 'Star Wars' offshoot from Disney's $4.05 billion deal to purchase Lucasfilm, the name is just a coincidence. Had you going though, didn't we! In any case, ABC certainly has 'Scrubs' and 'Cougar Town' creator Bill Lawrence going as well, having purchased yet another comedy from the sitcom developer. This time around, ABC has comissioned Lawrence to adapt UK police sitcom 'Feel the Force,' but how likely is it to go to series?

We've been feeling the force for at least a week now, but ABC and 'Scrubs' creator Bill Lawrence had a different idea in mind. According to Deadline, the departed 'Cougar Town' showrunner will next set his sights on 'Feel the Force,' an adaptation of the UK comedy of the same name. The series centers on two female rookie cops who struggle to prove themselves in a male-dominated police service, though we're betting the name gets a tweak.

ABC has put a good deal of faith in the comedy as well, optioning the single-camera sitcom with a put pilot commitment plus penalty. 'Feel the Force' isn't Lawrence's only project in the works either, including FOX's 'I Suck At Girls,' and NBC's 'Undateable' and 'Ali in Wonderland.'
