Frankie Go Boom‘ was a hit at SXSW earlier this year, and now we’ve got an official trailer for the film starring Charlie Hunnam, Lizzy Caplan, Chris O’Dowd and Ron Perlman in drag in the tale of a sex tape gone awry.

Chris O’Dowd (‘Bridesmaids’) and Charlie Hunnam (‘Sons of Anarchy‘) star as brothers Bruce and Frank, respectively, in this new film from writer/director Jordan Roberts. Bruce is the bully big brother who has made Frank’s life a total living hell since they were kids, always capturing the most embarrassing moments on film to twist the knife that much deeper. Now that they’re grown, Bruce still can’t let it go, even though he’s finally clean and sober, and when Frank hooks up with a girl and things don’t exactly… go… too… well… Bruce gets it on tape and threatens to publish it on the internet, sending him on an adventure that finds him interacting with some rather strange characters.

Most notably: Ron Perlman in drag as an ex-con named Phyllis (formerly Phil, of course).

This official trailer does a great job selling us on the concept, though it’s not too difficult to convince people to want to see Perlman in drag. ’3, 2, 1… Frankie Go Boom’ co-stars Whitney Cummings, Nora Dunn, Chris Noth and Adam Pally, and also features two reunions: Hunnam and Caplan co-starred on ‘Undeclared,’ and Hunnam and Perlman co-starred on ‘Sons of Anarchy.’

The film hits iTunes on September 10, followed by a limited theatrical run on October 12. Check out the trailer below and watch an high-def version over at Apple.
