Johnny Depp was a small screen star before hitting the silver screen as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribean. He played officer Tom Hanson, a young undercover cop specializing in youth crimes in 21 Jump Street. Now that 80's TV hit is being remade into a big screen movie starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

The premise of the movie is that cops, played by Hill & Tatum, go undercover as high school students in order to bust a student drug ring. They are supposed to "blend in" as students, find out who's running the ring without blowing their cover and without buying alcohol or giving drugs to the students in order to "get in". Of course, that becomes easier said than done.

Johnny Depp does make a cameo appearance in the movie. He says he enjoyed working with the directors and spending some time with Hill & Tatum.

Now if you are from my generation, who grew up watching the original 21 Jump Street then you will probably be disappointed. It's not like the original, it's more of a spoof of the original. If you want to laugh and just see a movie with no preconceived notions then go and enjoy because it does actually look funny.

The movie hits theaters March 16th.
