‘Blue Ain’t Your Color’ Named Single of the Year at 2017 CMA Awards

"Blue Ain't Your Color" by Keith Urban has been awarded Single of the Year at the 2017 CMA Awards ceremony in Nashville. The song was produced by Urban and Dan Huff and written by Steven Lee Olsen, Hillary Lindsey and Clint Lagerberg. The award was presented by Pitch Perfect 3 actresses, Brittany Snow and and Ruby Rose on Wednesday (Nov. 8) at Bridgestone Arena.

Taking the stage with Huff and Lagerberg, Urban took a few moments to thank his wife, Nicole Kidman who is currently in China, before handing the mic off to his fellow awardees. Their speech was quick but heartfelt with Lagerberg exclaiming, "Thank you Keith, you're the most amazing artist on the planet!"

Although Urban has officially stepped away from his American Idol hosting duties, the country star stayed mighty busy promoting his 2016 hit record Ripcord and working on even more new music. While we're all a bit confused as to why his collaboration with Carrie Underwood, "The Fighter," didn't get nominated for Musical Event of the Year at the 2017 CMA Awards, Urban still earned a number of CMAs nominations in addition to Single of the Year, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year, also for "Blue Ain't Your Color."

The other 2017 Song of the Year nominees at the CMA Awards were "Dirt on My Boots" (Jon Pardi), "Body Like a Back Road" (Sam Hunt), "Better Man" (Little Big Town), "Blue Ain't Your Color" (Keith Urban) and "Tin Man" (Miranda Lambert).
