This weekend’s Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach, Fla. has been canceled as Tropical Storm Hermine approaches. Eric Church, Brad Paisley and Jake Owen were among the performers scheduled for the three-day music festival.

Brett Eldredge, the Band Perry, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Granger Smith were also scheduled to play the Sept. 2-4 event. At the festival’s Facebook page they say that the storm is expected to have moved on by Friday’s start, but there won’t be enough time to rebuild the festival venue safely. The construction of the venue takes nearly a week to complete, and the stage and tents had to be taken down in anticipation of the five inches of rain and 40MPH winds expected on Thursday.

“Safety is the first concern for our visitors, country music fans and the festival organizers and sponsors.” Panama City Beach Mayor Mike Thomas says. “We’re disappointed that we have had to cancel this weekend’s show, but hope all of the fans enjoy their weekend on the beach. We look forward to welcoming the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam back next year.”

According to a press release, tickets purchased through official Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam ticket outlets are eligible for refunds. Fans can also leave their tickets in the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam ticket system and redeem them for next year's festival. More details on ticket refunds will be posted next week at the Gulf Coast Jam website.

Several country music festivals have been canceled in 2016, most due to poor ticket sales or for undisclosed reasons. This is the first weather-related cancelation of 2016. Tyler Farr, Colt Ford and Sara Evans were other scheduled performers. It's the second of two country music festivals at Panama City Beach. The Pepsi Spring Jam took place in April.

The 2016 Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam was to be the fourth annual.
