Wade Bowen recently hosted his 15th annual Wade Bowen Classic which this year benefited the town of West, Texas. The town suffered a tremendous loss in April of this year when a fertilizer plant exploded and damaged homes, a school and killed 15 people. This year's Classic brought in a record amount of money.

The two day event includes a concert, golf tournament and silent auction and raised almost a quarter of a million dollars this year and was attended by approximately 4000 fans. The funds raised are donated to The Bowen Family Foundation, which was established by Wade so that his annual charity event could donate money to many different organizations in need each year.

"This year's event was beyond anything I could've imagined,” shares Bowen. “What an outpouring of support for our friends in West, TX from the community and the artists. This was for sure a year I will never forget!"

Wade is from Waco, just a few miles from West. He spent much of his childhood working and then playing in the town of West, so this tragedy struck particularly close to home.
