Man, this college football season is flying by. Week 9 is just around the corner as the Heisman Trophy race is heating up. Week 8 saw some Heisman hopefuls do well, while some didn't do so well. Let's take a closer look at this year's Heisman Trophy hopefuls – top 5.

Andrew Luck – Stanford

Week 8 didn't see Luck put up Heisman Trophy like numbers against Washington, but, it was Washington and they smacked them around like tackling dummies, 65-21 so Luck didn't need his arm at all. He completed 16 of 21 passes for a modest 169 yards but on the season, he has the Cards undefeated, hitting over 71% of his passes with 20 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions. He currently leads all Heisman candidates. The Cardinals next game is against USC.

Trent Richardson – Alabama

Mark Ingram who? Richardson is tearing it up this year. He has rushed for almost a thousand yards with 17 touchdowns. His running, as well as the rest of the Crimson Tide, will get a huge test when they face LSU in their next game.

Kellen Moore – Boise State

Last week, Kellen Moore tied Colt McCoy for the most wins by an FBS quarterback with 45. Moore is hitting over 76% of his passes with 24 TD's and only 4 picks. His accuracy is incredible as the Broncos try to make a run at a national championship. Next game up with be UNLV on November 5th.

Tajh Boyd – Clemson

Boyd is putting up some ridiculous numbers. He has 24 TD's to only 3 interceptions and has thrown for over 2300 yards. His accuracy is not as impressive as Andrew Luck's or Kellen Moor'es, as he is completing 61% of his passes but, he is ONLY a Sophomore!

Russell Wilson – Wisconsin

Wilson has only had one bad game this year where he threw 2 picks against Michigan State in the Badgers only loss on the year. Still, that only gave him 3 interceptions on the year with 16 TD's.
